Our multi-week programs offer an excellent learning environment for kids of all ages and skiing or riding abilities. Snowbowl Snowsports School instructors are enthusiastic and know how to make lessons fun and safe as well as developing skiing and riding skills. We are proud that so many of our instrucrs are PSIA (Profresional Ski Instructors or America) certified. In fact, all or our on-snow management team members are PSIA certified, some with additional certification as Accredited Children's Instructors.
Our children's programs include a three-day Christmas Club (December 27-29) and a six-week program (Saturdays: January 13 - February 24, Sundays: January 14 - February 25). Our six-week programs include one make-up day at the end of the session.
Our six-week and Christmas Club programs are offered as half-day or full-day classes. The half-day option is from 10:00am -12:00noon. The full-day option is from 10:00am - 12:00 noon and then back out at 1:00pm to 3:00pm . Supervised lunch is available for full-day program participants ($48 for the six-week program and $24 for the 3-day Christmas Club). Supervised lunch for “Rage the Bowl” will be a sack lunch on days when they eat on the mountain and do not return to the base until 3:00pm .
Six Week Programs
Polar Bears
For beginner skiers ages 4-6, this program is designed for the younger skier with little or no skiing experience. Group size is smaller to ensure a great instructor-student learning experience. Lots of breaks, snacks and games support the skiing portion of the lesson so our youngest skiers learn at a pace that's just right for them. Lessons begin on the rope tow and most groups progress to riding the chairlift and skiing beginner and intermediate runs. The Snowbowl Snowsport School strongly encourages parents of children enrolled in this program to select the half-day option unless their child is accustomed to participating in physically demanding programs that last for five hours. Instructors include plenty of non-skiing breaks but little bodies tire quickly – especially in a winter environment.
Little Rippers
For intermediate skiers ages 4-6, this program is the same as Team Extreme, but designed for the younger skier who is skiing intermediate runs. Focus is on transitioning from wedge to parallel turns within the limits of their physical development (strength, coordination and stamina). Black diamond runs will be explored and fun will be a priority.

Snow Cats
For beginner skiers ages 7-12 who want to max out on fun. Snow Cats is for kids who have never skied or those who can ski in a wedge and stop on beginning terrain. Groups will be created based upon skiing skills. Some groups may start on the rope tow but should quickly progress to riding the chairlift and skiing beginner and intermediate runs.
Team Extreme
For intermediate skiers ages 7-12 who want to learn how to rip. This program is designed for skiers who have a solid wedge turn and some parallel turns on beginning and intermediate runs. Kids' will stay stoked on skiing by learning new skills and exploring new runs (even the occasional black diamond run) as they work towards becoming all mountain skiers and developing solid parallel turns.
Rage the Bowl
For advanced skiers ages 10-16 designed and taught by the Bowl's top instructors, Rage the Bowl offers an instructional opportunity unique to Snowbowl. This program is for skiers who can ski all runs with solid parallel turns. Upper level skiing skills will be applied in different settings such as mogul skiing, catching air safely, avalanche awareness and training, skiing steeps and variable terrain. This program is available only as a full-day program (10:00am to 12:00noon and 1:00pm to 3:00pm .). Class often stops for lunch on the hill so skiers need to make arrangements for their lunch or sign up for the Snowbowl lunch.
Boardheads
For beginning to advanced snowboarders ages 8-16. Learn to ride for the first time or improve your riding skills with other kids your age with some of the best riders on the mountain – our instructors. You don't have to have prior skiing or skateboarding experience to learn how to snowboard. If you're already ripping it up there's always something to learn like managing steeps and crud or catching air safely. No matter what your ability is – Boardheads Rock! Groups will be formed according to ability and aged considerations.
