Snowbowl Events for 2016-2017


December 1, 2016Last Day to Save $8 on Day Ticket Coupons: Save $8 on every day ticket by purchasing day ticket coupons before December 1–Adult, Student/Senior or Child. Available at ski shops or online at the Snowbowl Online Store 

December 3, 2016Opening Day of the 2015-2016 Ski Season. Weather permitting.

Snowbowl will be open daily starting Friday, December 16, 2016 through February 28, 2017-closed Tuesdays in March.

December 17, 2016Snowbowl bus service starts–Shuttle bus operates Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (not operating  Dec 25)-Shuttle bus will also operate during the Christmas holidays-daily starting December 26 through January 1. Pick up near the Town Pump station (base of Grant Creek) at 8:45 am and depart from Snowbowl parking lot at 4:15pm. Operated by Hellgate Transportation there is a charge of $2 one way or $3 round trip. Last day for the service is March 4, 2017.

December 27, 28 & 29, 2016 : Snowbowl Ski School Holiday session. Three day program for kids of all ages and abilities.

Learn to Ski-Board Tuesdays: Celebrate Tuesdays in January at the Bowl. Tuesdays in January are days with special prices –half price lessons (group and non-requested privates), half price GSF learn to ski-ride package and free use of the beginner tow. Starting January 3rd and continuing through January 31, 2017.

January 7 & 8, 2017 Kids’ Six-Week Program Begin with Orientation and Registration – This will be optional orientation day of the program followed by six regular days ending in the weekend of February 15th and 16th.You will meet our instructors. We’ll help you decide what program is best for your kid(s) with free mini lessons and skiing on beginner lifts-9:30 to 11:00am both days.

January 6, 2017 For Women Only Begins– FWO was designed by women skiers for women skiers! Friday afternoons for six-weeks. Take the afternoon off, ski with your friends or make some new ones and become a better skier.

January 14 & 15, 2017 :Northern Division Freestyle Event. This event, sanctioned by the USSA, draws the best skiers in the area for moguls, freestyle competition and jumping.

January 18, 2017 : Alpine Evening Race Series Begins. Every Wednesday  until March  with final race and party March 2017.   Contact: Jordan 240-0836

January 19, 2017 : Skimo and Boarder Meeting Begins Skimo competition on the lower mountain and Boarder (and skier) night shreding on features on Sunrise Bowl

January 26, 2017: Telemark Evening Race Series Begins. Six race Thursday evenings.  More information or

February 4 & 5, 2017: Missoula YSL Race. Two days of slalom racing on Sunrise Bowl, hosted by MSEF this is a Northern Division event.

February 25 & 26, 2017:  Snowbowl Cup Gelande ChampionshipThis event features spectacular ski jumping of up to 200 feet using alpine equipment. This event attracts national media as well as jumpers from all over the U.S. $8000 cash purse. Annually, the last weekend of February.

March 1, 2017: Open 6 days a week. Snowbowl is closed on Tuesdays in March.

March 4, 2017: Girls on Shred. Event for the girls. Come up and ride with other girls for the day—organized by Edge of the World girls department, free to participate (you need a day ticket or season pass) and prizes at the of the day

March 4 & 5, 2017: Twenty-eighth Annual Snowboard Jam and Demo Days .  Presented by Edge of the World Board Shop.  Slopestyle-Saturday and Banked Slalom-Sunday. Free Demos on Saturday and Sunday from Burton, Lib Tech, Gnu, Arbor & Never Summer.   Registration in the Last Run Inn from 9:30-11:00am.   Sponsored by Edge of the World Board Shop, check their web site for more details

March 12, 2017: Vertical Challenge. Event to see who can rack up the most vertical feet in one day. The grand prize is a pair of skis. This is a two person team event. Click here to register This event is sponsored by Big Sky Brewing Company.

March 13, 2017: Switch to Spring Hours. Open and close a half-hour later-open at 10:00AM and close at 4:30PM, half-day at 1:00PM.  Open Wednesday to Sunday after March 17.

March 13, 2017: Three for Two Promotion-Get a Free Day Ticket for This Ski Season! You ski any two days from March 13 to the end of the season and your third day is free.  Conditions apply-you must keep both lift tickets attached to your jacket individually and present them attached to the ticket window on your free day.  Tickets that are unattached or mutilated in any way will not be accepted.

March 13, 2017: Last Monday for the 16-17 Season  Starting next week we will be open 5 days a week, Wednesday to Sunday.

March 19, 2017: Best of the Bowl! Popular end-of-the-year race to find out who the best skiers, with Alpine, Telemark and Snowboard divisions judged on speed and style down the Grizzly Chute.  Sponsored by Pepsi and Summit Beverage.

March 19, 2017: End of Season Days and Hours – Snowbowl will be now open 5 days a week-Wednesday thru Sunday until April 2; open at 10:00 am, Half Day at 1:00 pm and close at 4:30 pm.   Conditions permitting will go one more weekend Friday April 7 to Sunday April 9th-keep your fingers crossed.

March 26, 2017: North Dakota Downhill. Slide and glide contest n the North Dakota Downhill trail. Registration is free; there are lots of prizes and fun for all ages and abilities. From 1pm to 3pm-register on the North Dakota.   Sponsored by Pepsi and Summit Beverage.

April 2, 2017: Last Day -Not this season! Bonus Weekend Added Open one more weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 7, 8 and 9!

April 9, 2017: Last Day  Last day for the 2016-17 season. Free Barbecue for skiers on the last day!

June 24, 2017: Start of the Summer Season . Snowbowl will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the summer for chairlift rides, mountain biking, hiking, pizza and the new Zip Line Tour!
